AHHS National Hackney Horse Futurity
Hackney Horse Division: To Be Held At The Mid-America Mane Event in Springfield, IL October 21-24, 2010
* The following classes will be offered in the Horse Division: Weanlings; Yearlings & 2-Year-Olds; 3-Year-Olds , 4-Year-Olds & 5-Year-Olds
* The Horse division will be an “open” futurity. A yearly nomination fee will be required. Each year will stand and will be independent of the prior year.
A horse does not have to be nominated each year to eligible for the next year. You pay the nomination fee for that year to participate.
* Entries are to be made with the approved show in order to compete.
* In order to show DNA verification and registration are required by September 1st of the year showing.
* AHHS membership must be current as of September 1st, in the year of competition, in order to participate in the show. Owner, co-owners, handlers, and judges are all required to be AHHS members.
* The foal must have application and fees for registration sent to the AHHS office by September 1st (postmarked September 1st or earlier) in order to show in the Weanling Class.
* Application and payment for DNA kit must be postmarked and received in the AHHS office by September 1st of the year showing.
* DNA test kits must be on file at the University of California at Davis by September 15th in order to show in the Weanling Class.
* The nomination fee of $100.00 must be paid on or before September 1st. All payments for the Futurity must be made to: AHHS, 4059 Iron Works Parkway, A-3, Lexington, KY 40511.
Weanling Division
* The entries in this division shall be shown in-hand, lead halter with natural tail, judged 50% on conformation and 50% on performance.
* Colts and fillies will show together.
* The nomination fee of $100.00 is due on or before September 1st.
* The entries in this division shall be shown in-hand, lead halter, or lead bridle (natural or set tail), judged 50% conformation, and 50% performance. No stud tack allowed.
3, 4 & 5-Year-Old Divisions
* In order to show, the 3, 4 and 5-Year-Olds must be registered and have DNA parent verification on file in the AHHS office by September 15th of the showing year.
* The nomination fee of $100.00 is due on or before September 1st.
* Two classes will be offered in this division:
The Hackney Harness Horse shall be shown in harness to a viceroy or 4-wheel-vehicle. To be judged on quality, presence, performance, and manners.
The Hackney Pleasure Horse driving to a jog chart or 2-wheel pleasure type vehicle. Judged on manners, suitability as a Pleasure Horse, performance and conformation. Must be asked to back. Stallions are permitted but, all Pleasure entries must be driven by an amateur.
* Nominees may show in only one class.
* The prize fund will be equally divided among all classes with entries for Weanling, Yearling, 2, 3, 4 and 5-Year-Olds. Each year all prize money will be distributed.
* Prize money determined per class will be awarded in the following scale:

LIABILITY
* The American Hackney Horse Society reserves the right to reject any entry from competition for failure to comply with the conditions and requirements.
* Agents and/or owners making nominations are responsible for making payments when due. The AHHS assumes no responsibility for reminding participants of payment dates.
