UPHA Hackney Pony Classic
Developed for ponies who are four-years-old and under who compete as Hackney (cob tail), harness (long tail), roadster or pleasure entries on a local level in UPHA Classic classes. First through sixth placings qualify the pony for the National UPHA Classic Championships that offer leading prize money for young performance ponies. Entrants pay an annual eligibility fee of $50.00 in addition to the horse show entry fee. Since no sustaining payments are necessary, the UPHA Classics programs attract a wide variety of participants who own and show Hackneys. For complete UPHA Classic rules, click here.
The UPHA Hackney Pony Classic Championships are held each November at the American Royal Horse Show in Kansas City, MO. Location of the qualifying horse shows and additional information can be obtained by contacting the United Professional Horseman’s Association, 4059 Iron Works Pike, Building A, Lexington KY 40511, (859) 231-5070.
