GENERAL PROVISIONS
THE FOUR DIVISIONS: The South Central Hackney Pony Breeders Futurity will be shown each year in four divisions. Weanling, Yearling, Two-Year Old, and Three-Old Hackney Ponies.
WHAT FOALS ARE ELIGIBLE: All foals shown must be the produce of stallions and mares who have been previously nominated in the SCHA Pony Breeders Futurity. Exceptions: In 2006 – Yearlings, Two-Year Olds, and Three-Year Olds not previously nominated may be nominated by paying appropriate fees below.
In 2007 – Two-Year Olds and Three-Year Olds not previously nominated may be nominated by paying appropriate fees below.
In 2008 – Three-Year Olds not previously nominated may be nominated by paying appropriate fees below.
NOMINATION OF SIRE – HOW TO NOMINATE THE SIRE: To nominate a stallion it is necessary: (1) That the stallion be registered in the SCHA, and (2) That a fee of $25.00 be paid to the Futurity on or before April 30 of the year the foal is nominated.
NOMINATION OF DAM – HOW TO NOMINATE THE DAM: To nominate a mare in the Futurity it is necessary: (1) That the mare be registered in the SCHA, and (2) That a fee of $5.00 be paid to the Futurity on or before April 30 of the year in which the foal is to be eligible for the Weanling Division of the Futurity.
THE WEANLING DIVISION: HOW TO MAKE A WEANLING ELIGIBLE: In order to make a foal eligible to show in the Weanling Division of the Futurity, the following conditions must be complied with:(1) The sire and dam must be nominated in the Futurity the year in which the foal is born. (2) The foal must be registered before it can be shown. (3) $25.00 must be paid to the Futurity on or before May 31 of the year in which the foal is born. HOW SHOWN: The entries in this division shall be shown in hand, 70% conformation, 30% action, in halter or lead bridle, with natural tail.
THE YEARLING DIVISION: HOW TO MAKE A YEARLING ELIGIBLE: In order to make a colt, filly or gelding eligible to show in the Yearling Division, the following conditions must be complied with: (1) The colt, filly or gelding must have been entered in the Weanling Division of this Futurity and all conditions and requirements of that Division must have been fulfilled. Must have been registered as Weanling. (2) $25.00 must be paid to the Futurity on or before April 30 of the year the entry becomes a yearling. Exception: In 2006 Yearlings not previously nominated may be made eligible by paying past nomination fees of $50.00 plus additional $50.00 (sire and dam nominations plus interest) fee by April 30. HOW SHOWN: The entries in this division shall be shown in hand. 70% conformation, 30% action, in halter or lead bridle.
THE 2-YEAR OLD DIVISION: HOW TO KEEP THE 2-YEAR-OLD ELIGIBLE: In order to make a colt, filly or gelding eligible to show in the Two-Year-Old Division of the Futurity, the following conditions must be complied with: (1) The colt, filly or gelding must have been entered in the Weanling and Yearling Divisions of this Futurity and all conditions and requirements of those divisions must have been fulfilled. (2) $25.00 must be paid to the Futurity on or before April 30 of the year the entry becomes a two-year old. Exceptions: In 2006 and 2007 Two- Year Olds not previously nominated may be made eligible by paying past nomination fees of $75.00 plus additional $50.00 (sire and dam nominations plus interest) fee by April 30. HOW SHOWN: The entries in this division shall be shown in hand, 60% conformation, 40% action, in halter or lead bridle. Tack optional for stallions and geldings.
3-YEAR OLD DIVISION: HOW TO KEEP A 3-YEAR-OLD ELIGIBLE - In order to make a colt, filly or gelding eligible to show in the Three-Year Old Division of the Futurity, the following conditions must be complied with: (1) The colt, filly or gelding must have been entered in the Weanling, Yearling and Two-Year Old Divisions of this Futurity and all conditions and requirements of those divisions must have been fulfilled. (2) $25.00 must be paid to the Futurity on or before April 30 of the year the entry becomes a three-year old. Exceptions: In 2006, 2007 and 2008 Three-Year Olds not previously nominated may be made eligible by paying past nomination fees of $100.00 plus additional $50.00 (sire and dam nominations plus interest) fee by April 30. HOW SHOWN: Hackney/Harness, Roadster or Pleasure Driving.
Each entry to show in only one class.
PRIZES: HOW THE PRIZES ARE DIVIDED: In each division the winner will receive 40% of the Prize Fund in that division; second, 25%; third, 17 ½ %, fourth, 10%; fifth, 5%; sixth, 2 ½%.
VALUE OF THE PRIZE FUND: The value of the Prize Fund of the Futurity each year shall be the total amount of money paid in fees, miscellaneous funds and added donations.
