The Hackney Horse

Shown in a variety of ways, the Hackney Horse must stand over 14.2 hands at the withers.

The Hackney Horse, like the Hackney Pony, is a versatile performer and can be shown as a single or pair in the show ring as well as In-Hand.

Hackney Horses are also driven in both Carriage and Combine Driving Events as singles, pairs, tandems, unicorns and four-in-hands. In the sport horse disciplines, today’s Hackney Horses are competing in Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, Combine Training (Eventing), English Pleasure, and Competitive Trail Riding/Driving.

Hackney Horses have recently sparked an interest with Junior Exhibitors as well, with their intelligent and trainable temperament.
